Nurse Me!
Oshimeter
Synopsis
Bright-eyed and eager to excel at her job, Yumi Asakura is a nursing student about to get a very unconventional education. Then she starts her practical training at Aobadai General Hospital and discovers that the staff there has a very different definition of 'patient care.' Her roommate Risa and the head nurse Etsuko walk her through the hospital's unconventional approach to keeping patients satisfied, and Yumi — earnest and a little naive — goes along with it because she genuinely believes this is just how professional nursing works. The comedy comes almost entirely from that gap between her sincere dedication and the increasingly absurd situations she keeps finding herself in. It's a 3-episode OVA from 2002, adapted from a visual novel by studio AT-2, so don't expect long-form storytelling — this is short, self-contained, and exactly what it advertises. The blend of comedy and adult content is lighter in tone than something like Night Shift Nurses, which leans harder into darker scenarios. If you've seen Warau Kangofu THE ANIMATION and want something with a similar hospital setting but a more comedic, less intense energy, this fits that slot. The character designs hold up reasonably well for the era, and the comedic framing keeps things from feeling as heavy as comparable titles. It is what it is — adult content with a genuinely funny setup and a lead character whose clueless sincerity carries most of the humor. If that premise sounds appealing, three episodes is not a big commitment.
