the opening arc introduction is handled with notable efficiency. the episode establishes the new dynamics and threats without over-explaining, trusting the viewer's familiarity with the established world. the tonal consistency with season one is maintained while also signaling a meaningfully darker direction ahead.

this opening absolutely sent me, i missed this gang so much. the whole world of noragami hitting you from the very first minute again is everything. the vibe is so perfectly established and consistent with s1. comeback feels so good

coming back to this world after so long felt exactly right and the opening sequence alone tells you this season is operating at a COMPLETELY DIFFERENT LEVEL. every plot thread gets set up cleanly from the first episode and you can already feel that something genuinely huge is building right underneath everything.

Episode Context

As the first episode of thirteen, this premiere bridges the gap from season one by reestablishing core character dynamics between Yato, Yukine, and Hiyori while laying critical groundwork for what becomes the season's central conflict involving Bishamon. The episode introduces simmering tensions and hints at Bishamon's complicated past, threads that will escalate dramatically in the episodes ahead. Think of it as the calm before a storm, entertaining on its own, but clearly building toward something much heavier.
