Synopsis
All these two want is a good time: Nmeneko and Usukuro aren't after anything complicated. That's it. That's the entire premise of Nmeneko, and honestly, it works way better than it has any right to. Nmeneko is a carefree cat whose life philosophy boils down to "if it's not fun, why bother," and her companion Usukuro is the slightly more responsible one who gets dragged along for the ride anyway. Together they navigate their quiet Japanese neighborhood looking for the next good time, whether that's chasing something they shouldn't or turning a mundane afternoon into low-stakes chaos. The humor is gentle and observational: think the cozy cat energy of Chi's Sweet Home mixed with the absurd anthropomorphic charm of Bananya. It's based on a web manga that already built a pretty solid following online, so the characters have that tested quality where you can tell people genuinely love hanging out with them. The episodes are short, which makes it perfect for when you want something light between heavier watches. Studio Kumarba handles the animation, and there's apparently even a crossover episode with Sonic the Hedgehog, which is exactly the kind of weird detail that makes you curious enough to check it out.
