Synopsis

A kid named Rappa attending a ninja school already tells you the general vibe here — young kids learning to throw shuriken, run on walls, and probably fail spectacularly at both. He's got a rival named Kamari, a new teacher called Machi Okachi, and a pet named Pochimaru, which honestly might end up being the breakout character. The setup is classic academy stuff: students training, butting heads, and figuring out what kind of ninja they want to be. What makes this one worth keeping on your radar is Kinema Citrus. These are the people behind Made in Abyss and Shield Hero, so whatever this show ends up being tonally, it's going to look good. The character designs by Hami have a clean, energetic feel that suggests this leans more fun than gritty, and with an original story there's no source material to spoil where things go. If you liked Naruto's academy days but wished the whole show stayed in that scrappy early phase, this might scratch that itch. Fans of Shuriken School or Shinobi no Ittoki will recognize the ninja-school DNA, but Kinema Citrus's production quality could elevate it past those. Details are still thin since it hasn't aired yet, but the combo of a character-driven ninja school setting and a studio that consistently delivers strong animation is enough reason to pay attention when it drops.
