Episode Context

As Episode 1 of 12, this is pure foundation, there is nothing preceding it, and everything flows from it. The character triangle of Shido, Yayoi, and Riho is assembled here, and the supernatural threat framework that will define the season is introduced. What this episode establishes about Shido's concealed nature and his relationship to the Nightbreed quietly plants the seeds that later episodes will develop into the show's central conflict.
