Night Tail
Oshimeter
Synopsis
Blessed with a rare gift that lets her step into the world of dreams and fight the monsters lurking there, Yoru is the only one standing between her town and the creatures that slowly eat away at people's memories and sense of self, leaving victims hollowed out in the real world. These aren't harmless nightmares; they're creatures that slowly eat away at people's memories and sense of self, leaving victims hollowed out in the real world. Her town has a problem with them, and she's basically the only one who can do anything about it. Then someone called the Paradise Manager starts pulling the strings — capturing Yoru's friends and dragging ordinary townspeople into a twisted dreamscape he controls. What starts as monster-of-the-night work turns into something much more personal. The story also gives you a second lens through Mashiro, a character whose perspective runs alongside Yoru's, which adds some genuine layering to how events unfold. For a 2-episode OVA, Night Tail packs in a surprisingly structured fantasy-suspense setup — think the dream-world atmosphere of Nightwalker: The Midnight Detective crossed with the scrappy, small-town stakes of Yatterman Night. If you've played the source game, the adaptation keeps that dual-perspective structure intact. If you haven't, it holds up as a standalone watch. Fair warning: this is a hentai title, so go in knowing what you're signing up for. The story framework underneath is more developed than you'd expect from the genre, and Majin's 2023 production gives it a clean visual polish.
