EPISODE CONTEXT
Coming off Episode 2's pivotal moment where Maria's unconventional nature drew the crown prince's notice, Episode 3 shifts gears into a more introspective and comedic register — forcing Maria to reckon with the gap between who she is and who society expects her to be. It's a necessary bridge episode, using humor to deepen her character before the series escalates the stakes of her relationships. The tensions introduced here around identity and expectation are clearly being banked for later payoff in the back half of the season.
