Natsu to Hako
Oshimeter
Synopsis
Imagine a busted phone booth, a pair of kids, and a summer so hot you can practically feel it through the screen. Natsu to Hako is a 2025 OVA adapted from Doumou's manga, and the setup is deceptively simple: Yoshi is out in the countryside catching bugs when he spots Sachi stuck dealing with a busted public phone. He steps in to help, his net gets jammed in the door, and now they're both trapped in this tiny glass box while the sun beats down relentlessly. What follows is an intimate, slow-burn scenario where the heat does most of the heavy lifting — clothes come off out of necessity, and the closeness between them shifts into something else entirely. The confined setting is honestly the star here. There's nowhere to go, no distractions, just two people pressed together in a space barely big enough for one. Studio New Generation leans into the oppressive atmosphere of summer — the sweat, the haze, the stillness — and it works as both mood-setting and tension-building. If you've watched Koi Yagate Midara or Itadaki! Seieki and appreciated how those handled intimacy with actual character dynamics rather than just going through the motions, this hits a similar note. Fans of Kanojo x Kanojo x Kanojo might also find something to like here, though the tone is more restrained and focused. It's a tight, contained piece that knows exactly what it wants to be.
