I felt so bad for Gaara when his uncle tried to kill him and told him nobody ever loved him that was actually soul crushing

When Yashamaru told Gaara he was a wound, I felt such a gut punch for the kid, and then for him to just blow up right there? My jaw dropped; that was such a messed-up way to try and fulfill an order.

Sakura stood her ground against that sand monster and it was really cool to see her move to protect her friends even though she was terrified

Naruto looking at Gaara and seeing his own loneliness is such a deep moment and it makes this fight feel way more personal than just some ninja battle

I really wasn't expecting Sakura to jump in front of Gaara like that to protect Sasuke because she knows she can't win, and it makes me respect her a lot more. Then seeing Gaara’s childhood where his uncle betrayed him just made me want to give that kid a hug. I feel like Naruto is the only one who can understand that pain

The Third Hokage is still stuck in that barrier with Orochimaru while the village is falling apart, but the real tension is definitely out in the woods with the kids.

Watching Gaara lose his mind and start that transformation was terrifying, but the parallel between him and Naruto really changes how you see their whole rivalry.

I was not expecting Sakura to be the one to stand her ground while Sasuke was down and seeing her protect them from that sand arm was great

That flashback with Yashamaru was brutal and it makes you realize that Gaara never even stood a chance at being a normal kid

Both of these boys grew up totally alone and seeing Naruto cry for Gaara instead of just being scared is a lot to take in

it is weird how Naruto can suddenly keep up with Gaara after getting beat up by Neji not long ago and the fight with Orochimaru and the old man is still just dragging on

I actually feel so bad for Gaara now and that flashback with his uncle literally crushed me because he was just a kid who wanted to be loved like everyone else

I really need to see what happens next because Naruto summoning the giant toad is exactly the kind of energy this fight needs right now

that flashback explained so much about why Gaara is such a psycho and Naruto seeing himself in that loneliness was such a heavy moment for his character

Gaara turning into that sand demon is terrifying but at least Gamakichi showed up even if he is just a tiny little frog it was a funny break from the drama

Gaara starting to turn into that sand monster is seriously creepy and you can tell Naruto is finally getting ready to actually fight back

Seeing Naruto realize that he could have ended up exactly like Gaara if things went a little differently really hit me hard today. He sees himself in that monster, and it makes the whole fight feel so much more personal than just some ninja mission. I am so ready to see him summon that giant toad and finally put a stop to this.

Yashamaru being the one sent to kill Gaara is the most messed up thing the Kazekage could have done, and no wonder the kid grew up thinking everyone is an enemy when his own family tried to end him

The tension is unreal because you have the Third Hokage fighting Orochimaru while Naruto is dealing with this literal monster in the forest
