EPISODE REVIEWS

The studio really does a good job in showing how wild and intense Naruto's state in his fight against Haku. Haku's past is revealed in this episode and why he is loyal to Zabuza. Kakashi's side is also starting to finish up as well.

Episode Context

Sitting deep in the Land of Waves arc's climax, Episode 17 follows directly from 'The Broken Seal,' where Naruto's unleashed power shifted the battlefield dynamic, and now the focus turns to understanding the enemy across from him. This episode serves as the emotional backbone of the arc's final act, setting up 'The Weapons Known as Shinobi,' which will push the philosophical tensions introduced here toward their conclusion.
