Sasuke faces his deepest conflict as the Sound’s offer forces a defining choice: pursue vengeance or remain with the life he’s built in the Leaf. This episode opens a tense, emotional arc where every decision shapes the path he’s about to take.

Those four sound ninja really handled a chunin level fighter like nothing and it made the gap between Sasuke and his goals look massive and that made the invitation impossible for him to refuse

I really felt for Sakura when she was crying and begging Sasuke to stay in the village and him just calling her annoying before leaving hurt so much because she was so vulnerable there

Sasuke staring at the mark on his neck while thinking about how fast naruto is getting stronger shows just how much his pride is hurting right now and it pushed him over the edge

I knew Sasuke was frustrated after the hospital rooftop fight, but seeing him actually turn his back on the Hidden Leaf is a lot to process. My heart broke for Sakura because she literally bared her soul to him, and he just shut her down with the same insult he used when they first met. He is so consumed by his revenge

Sakura offering to help him with his revenge just to keep him from leaving was so desperate and sad and seeing her lying on that bench alone at the end was brutal

The sound four really got into his head by showing him how weak he is compared to them and it makes sense why he would choose orochimaru over his friends after seeing narutos progress

Watching Sasuke walk away while that demon theme played in the moonlight gave me chills and it really feels like everything has changed now that he decided to follow the sound four

Sasuke is making a huge mistake by trusting Orochimaru, but that fight against the sound four proved he is not ready for Itachi yet. It is so sad that Team 7 is officially falling apart like this

That moonlight scene was so beautifully animated and the atmosphere felt heavy and you can feel the weight of Sasuke leaving his friends for power from a creep like Orochimaru

The designs for the sound four are so cool and unique compared to other ninjas shown before and Tayuya and Kidomaru look especially dangerous and they really put Sasuke in his place during that fight

My heart dropped when Sasuke said thank you right before he knocked Sakura out and I thought for a second she actually convinced him to stay but he is too far gone into the revenge mindset now

Sasuke is being such a jerk to Sakura and it sucks that he is actually joining Orochimaru and you can tell he was just jealous of how much Naruto improved lately and it is driving him crazy

I honestly feel so bad for Sakura after that scene, because she really poured her heart out only for Sasuke to call her annoying again. It hurts seeing him walk away from the village like this, and I guess his obsession with Itachi is just too strong for him to stay. Those Sound Four guys seem like a huge problem for the leaf too

Watching Sasuke walk away into the darkness while that demon music played was spooky and he is throwing everything away just to get strong enough to kill his brother and it is tragic to watch

Those new guys working for Orochimaru look absolutely terrifying and those weird marks on their skin are so creepy and you can feel how much stronger they are than Sasuke right now and it makes sense why he wants power

I still cant believe Sasuke actually knocked Sakura out and left her on that bench like that and seeing her cry broke my heart and I really hope Naruto goes after him right away

The Sound Four seem like real trouble and hearing Sasuke use that different pronunciation for his move against them just shows how much he is changing

Everything changed the moment Sasuke walked past that gate and left Sakura on the bench because Team 7 is never going to be the same again

That track Demon playing while Sasuke stands with his new allies gave the ending such a dark feel and it makes the future look pretty bleak

EPISODE CONTEXT

Coming off the explosive emotional fallout of Sasuke and Naruto's rooftop clash in 'Bitter Rivals and Broken Bonds,' this episode channels that tension inward, forcing Sasuke to confront his choices in isolation. It serves as the critical bridge between rivalry and departure, directly setting up the formation of the Sasuke Retrieval Squad and one of Naruto's most beloved multi-episode arcs. At episode 109 of 220, this is the hinge point where the original series pivots toward its most emotionally consequential storyline.
