I was so surprised when Sai actually went against Danzo's orders to help Naruto, it really showed me how much he's grown and how much he truly values their connection. For a guy who couldn't even understand emotions before, seeing him choose his friends over his mission was a huge moment that made me finally see him as a true part of Team 7.
