The way that Sakura and Naruto outsmarted Kakashi was so thrilling to watch.

Also, the way that Deidara is using his Clay to outwit Gaara is amazing as well.

The level of expertise that Deidara has to think of that plan was simply outstanding

Now this episode focused on Gaara and Deidara, both sides showing very well their fighting styles. Gaara's backstory is very emotional and touching; he improved very much just meeting Naruto.

The way the sand just spread out, enveloping everything, made me wonder if Gaara was truly ready to give up his life right then and there. It's crazy how much he's grown since the Chunin Exams, and now he's protecting his village with everything he's got.

The scale of that C3 explosion was terrifying and you can really feel the weight of the responsibility Gaara carries now that he is the leader

How much strength did Gaara actually have to hold back that massive clay bomb Deidara dropped? My jaw practically hit the floor watching him pour every last bit of his power into that giant sand wall, it really hammered home his dedication to protecting the Hidden Sand now, completely different from how he used to be.

I loved that Naruto used Icha Icha spoilers to beat Kakashi because it is such a classic bratty move that actually worked on a jonin

Seeing Team Kakashi officially become a three-man cell of equals is such a massive shift from the old days, and Sakura definitely feels like she can hold her own now

I actually teared up seeing the villagers cheering for Gaara because he used to be so hated and now he is literally their shield against that giant clay bomb

I still remember when Gaara was just a monster so seeing everyone in the Sand Village cheer for him as their Kazekage actually made me emotional

That guy Deidara is seriously creepy with the hand mouths but seeing him missing an arm proves Gaara is not playing around anymore

Deidara calling his bombs art while trying to wipe out a whole city is pure psycho behavior but it makes for an incredible fight

You know Naruto is back when Kakashi uses a whole jutsu just to avoid paying for ramen and leaves Sakura to deal with the bill

Watching Deidara try to outmaneuver that special sand from the gourd shows how much of a beast the Kazekage has become since the chuin exams

It really gets to me how much Naruto changed Gaara's entire outlook on life. Seeing those flashbacks of him wanting to be needed and then watching him risk everything to put that massive sand roof over the village was so heavy for my heart. He finally found people who love him back and he is willing to die to keep them safe

Seeing Naruto and Sakura officially become peers with Kakashi on the new team feels like they finally got the recognition they deserved after all that training

The way Gaara strained to keep that sand shield from collapsing under the C3 blast showed how much he is willing to sacrifice for his people now

Deidara is actually insane for trying to level an entire village just because he got annoyed with Gaara and that clay owl maneuver through the narrow canyons looked amazing

Kakashi using a body flicker jutsu just to get out of paying for Naruto’s ramen is the most relatable thing a teacher has ever done in this show

I honestly got a bit emotional seeing the flashback of Gaara talking about how Naruto changed his life, especially when he decided he wanted to be the Kazekage so he could protect everyone, and that moment where he stretches his sand across the entire sky to stop the C3 bomb felt so much more meaningful than a cool fight scene

EPISODE CONTEXT

Episode 5 continues the opening Kazekage Rescue arc, picking up directly from the threat established in 'The Jinchūriki of the Sand' as the Akatsuki's assault on the Sand Village escalates. This episode bridges the initial setup with the arc's broader mission phase, deepening both Gaara's standalone conflict and Team Kakashi's mobilization. It feeds directly into 'Mission Cleared,' shifting focus from individual confrontations toward unified shinobi objectives.
