I can't get over how Itachi made Orochimaru look like a complete amateur and that genjutsu was so smooth

It is crazy how easily Itachi handled the Three Tails Jinchuriki and Juzo is actually a pretty decent partner for him

Did anyone else just gasp when Itachi *instantly* shut Orochimaru down? My jaw dropped watching him anticipate every single move, like he'd already played out the entire fight in his head. It really solidified for me just how terrifyingly brilliant he is, especially considering all the burdens he carries.

When Yagura suddenly went full Perfect Jinchuriki, I totally gasped; like, how were they even going to fight that? Seeing those black flames hit him made me think, 'Oh, thank god,' because seriously, what else could even touch him at that point?

Honestly, I was so shocked by how Itachi just absolutely clowned a legendary Sannin; it really highlights how terrifyingly strong he is, and it makes me question if we've even seen him go all out before.

The early Akatsuki forming was intense, and I gotta say, it didn't shock me one bit to see money and power driving them. What really got me, though, was wondering if any of those guys ever truly believed in something more than just their personal gain, even for a moment, or if it was always just a stepping stone for them.

Itachi, my heart just breaks for him, being stuck with the Akatsuki feels like a special kind of hell for someone like him. I keep thinking about how much he must resent every moment, pretending to be one of them when all he wants is to protect Konoha.

Juzo was actually starting to grow on me, you know, seeming like he was finally going to be a reliable partner for Itachi, and then he just gets obliterated by the Mizukage out of nowhere. I seriously thought he'd have a longer run, so seeing him get taken out so unceremoniously was a gut punch; it felt almost unfair after that glimpse of loyalty.

I was genuinely shocked by how quickly Itachi just bodied Orochimaru when he tried to snatch him. Like, I knew Itachi was strong, but for Orochimaru to get shut down that fast? He really overestimated himself, which was kinda wild to see after all his plotting.

I was so on edge watching Pain command the Akatsuki, knowing that every single one of them had their own twisted agenda bubbling beneath the surface; it just makes me question how long this facade of unity can even last, especially with his overwhelming presence.

Itachi just effortlessly calling out Orochimaru's true nature so early on totally stunned me; it makes me wonder how much more he saw coming that we never knew about. My stomach dropped when I heard Orochimaru casually talk about human life like that, especially knowing his future experiments – he was truly chilling even back then.

My stomach churned watching Itachi join the Akatsuki, especially knowing what he'd just done for Konoha. I couldn't help but wonder if this cold, detached version of him was just a facade, or if the massacre truly hollowed him out that much.

I seriously burst out laughing when Orochimaru tried to sneak up on Itachi and just got completely owned; honestly, I should've expected nothing less from Itachi, who always seems to be ten steps ahead.

I was genuinely floored watching Itachi just effortlessly pin Orochimaru with his own arm thanks to the Sharingan; it wasn't just brutal, but it honestly made me realize how Itachi's mind was always his most dangerous weapon, making someone like Orochimaru look almost amateur.

Itachi just casually strolling through the forest, looking so collected after everything he's been through, really made me question what he was truly feeling inside. I found myself thinking that maybe his calm exterior was less about being cold and more about the incredible, quiet burden he carried with him.

I seriously can't believe how badly Konoha messed up with the Uchiha; it's just so frustrating seeing how all those decisions led to so much pain, especially for Sasuke, and it feels like a wound that never truly healed for the village either.

I was really looking forward to seeing Itachi join the Akatsuki, and man, watching him and Juzo actually work well together before Juzo just gets taken out like that? It felt so unfair, almost like Itachi can't catch a break, and it just makes the whole Uchiha tragedy feel even more heartbreaking for him.

Itachi looked absolutely dead on his feet walking with Juzo, and it made me so sad to think about all the crap he's been through, especially after what we saw with the Uchiha massacre. I kinda wondered if he was just trying to process everything or if he was already planning something big and dark, staying so quiet.

When I found out the Akatsuki were taking on sketchy mercenary jobs just for money, it really kinda blew my mind. For a group that talks about world peace and grand ambitions, it makes me wonder how serious they even are about their overall plan if they're still scrounging for cash like that.

I couldn't believe how smoothly Itachi and Jūzō worked together, it was such an unexpected duo but they got the job done. Seeing Itachi pull out Amaterasu so casually against a full-on Tailed Beast really reminded me just how terrifyingly powerful he was, even before we knew his full story.

EPISODE CONTEXT

Positioned deep into Shippuden at episode 456 of 500, this continues Itachi's backstory arc that began with his defection and integration into the Akatsuki following 'Moonlit Night.' The episode builds on the foundation of Itachi's early days as a rogue ninja and sets up 'Partner,' which further examines the bonds and tensions within the organization. This stretch of episodes serves as one of the series' final deep explorations of key characters before the overarching narrative reaches its conclusion.
