I seriously thought Shikamaru was done for when that tree grabbed him; my heart totally sank seeing him look so faded so quickly. It's always a punch to the gut watching Naruto take on everyone's pain, but man, he just uses that burden to push even harder, which honestly just highlights how far he's come from being that lonely kid. This clash between the founders' visions really makes me wonder if there's ever a "right" way to be a shinobi.
