Young Madara, so earnestly protecting his brothers and dreaming of a unified Konoha with Hashirama, truly blindsided me with how much sympathy I felt. I just keep thinking about whether the Uchiha and Senju were ever able to escape this devastating cycle, and it makes Sasuke's choices feel so much heavier, knowing this history.
