Imo, it feels kinda rushed, but this is what war is really like.

There is a very high price to pay when going to war. Hinata's speech made Naruto realize the harsh reality of what was happening, a war. It’s definitely sad, but unfortunately, the war is still going on.

It is hard to watch Neji go out like that because you remember him being such a jerk in the exams, and then he became the best teammate, and the way Hinata stood her ground against Obito even while crying for her cousin showed how much she grew as a ninja, and her holding Naruto's hand was the only way he could keep going

Kurama telling Naruto that his parents did the same thing for him was a great way to show that Neji's sacrifice actually meant something for the future of the world

I cannot believe Neji is actually gone and it hurts seeing him die for a destiny he was supposed to change but at least he went out protecting his family and Naruto

I did not expect them to actually kill off Neji like that and him telling Naruto he was a genius for the last time really hurt why did it have to be him of all people

The silence right after the Tailed Beast Ball hit the headquarters made that goodbye from Shikaku and Inoichi even more painful for the kids

I am still crying over Shikaku giving Shikamaru one last strategy before the explosion and the way Inoichi told Ino he was proud of her was too much

Neji choosing his own death to protect his friends finally let him be free from that curse mark and his final words about being a genius were perfect

Watching Neji die to a bunch of wooden spikes felt so wrong when he is a literal genius with the best defense in the entire leaf village

My heart sank when Neji died, and I hate how Obito tried to use that to break Naruto because Hinata slapping some sense into him was everything

Obito is such a monster for mocking Naruto right after Neji died but seeing Hinata hold his hand and bring him back was the best part of the whole war though her mentioning how big his hand is was a little weird

The way Shikaku and Inoichi just quietly said their last goodbyes over the telepathy link, while the headquarters around them fell apart, absolutely broke me. I can only imagine how Shikamaru and Ino will carry that loss, especially knowing their dads were just... gone in an instant.

His last words to Naruto, saying he *chose* his death, hit me like a ton of bricks because it was such a powerful moment of his destiny being rewritten, but I'm still so incredibly mad that it had to be *this* choice. After all the pain Neji went through escaping the Hyuga's fate system, I just wish he could have seen the war's true end without such a tragic sacrifice.

For Naruto to be utterly shattered like that, slumped in the dirt, it truly felt like Obito's words were cutting right into his soul, echoing every failure he'd ever felt. It just hurt me to see his spirit so broken when he always carries the burden of saving everyone, and I couldn't help but imagine the weight of his past promises crashing down on him all at once.

Hinata's firm slap snapped Naruto out of it, and I was genuinely taken aback by her almost immediate concern for *his* hand, even with Neji dying right beside them. It's a complicated feeling for me because while part of me wished she'd acknowledge Neji more, her singular, powerful focus on Naruto in such a desperate moment truly underscored the depth of her feelings for him.

When those wood spikes from the Ten-Tails just effortlessly tore through the Allied Shinobi, even hitting some of the characters I was really rooting for, my stomach dropped. I seriously questioned how anyone could even hope to stand against that thing, feeling a new level of terror for the entire war effort.

When Neji finally called Naruto a genius, I was just thinking about how far they'd come since the Chunin Exams and how much Neji originally underestimated him. Then watching that single bird take off felt so incredibly poignant, almost like it was a sign of everything everyone had lost in that moment.

When Shikaku and Inoichi's faces flickered into that telepathic message, I just knew, and my heart absolutely sank for Shikamaru and Ino. It really got me thinking about all the wisdom and support those two had given to their generation, and it just felt so utterly devastating that their final words had to be goodbye.

Obito really went for the jugular, didn't he, bringing up all those deaths right to Naruto's face; it just made me so mad for Naruto, like, dude's been through enough and now this? It feels like everything is on the line now, more than ever, and I'm really worried about what this'll do to him.

EPISODE CONTEXT

Episode 364 follows the Allied Shinobi Forces' combined assault against the Ten-Tails and marks a critical turning point where the enemy's counterattack reshapes the emotional stakes of the war. The consequences of this episode ripple directly into 'Those Who Dance in the Shadows,' as surviving characters must regroup and reckon with what was lost. Sitting roughly at the midpoint of Shippuden's 500-episode run, this is deep into the war's most pivotal stretch — the kind of episode that redefines character motivations for everything that follows.
