I gotta say, Fukai's story about that emptiness in his heart really caught me off guard with how sad it was. It just reinforced for me how much Bee's found family with the Eight-Tails and his friends meant, because it feels like he could've easily ended up with that same kind of deep, lonely despair if things had gone differently.
