In this episode, several fights that had already happened in the past when the Konoha ninjas were younger are repeated. However, I don’t consider it an important episode, since there is no significant lore or important development due to the opponents are not main characters.

seeing the sound four again actually feels like a decent callback and neji taking out kidomaru so fast shows how much he leveled up since the first time they fought

During that Underworld Transfer Jutsu at the end, I was so thrown by how janky the animation looked; it completely snapped me out of the moment, and that whole 'soul stuff' felt like it came from left field.

When Neji started tearing through those spiders, I literally cheered; it's been way too long since we've seen him unleash his Byakugan and those insane Taijutsu moves. Seeing his calm, precise fighting style always reminds me why he's one of my favorites, and I just love how effortlessly he handles things even when overwhelmed.

I seriously couldn't believe how quickly Kiba just bodied Sakon and Ukon, it was wild to see how much they've fallen since their original fights. It really hammered home for me just how far the main cast has come in terms of power, and honestly, it was kind of funny to watch after seeing how much trouble they gave them before.

OMG, when Tayuya and her creepy flute theme came back, I seriously got chills. It just instantly pulled me back to the Sasuke Retrieval Arc and all that tension, remembering how intense that fight was for Shikamaru.

When the Sound Four popped up again, I felt a weird mix of dread and excitement, remembering how genuinely terrifying they were in the original series. But seeing Shikamaru and Choji completely outclass them with their new moves just made me so incredibly proud of how far they've come since their academy days. Seriously though, that bizarre Underworld Transfer at the very end totally threw me for a loop—what in the world was that crazy jutsu?

Ugh, I'm finding it hard to get into these filler fights when all I really want is to know what's happening with the actual war and the characters I'm *actually* worried about. It just feels like a frustrating detour when the stakes were so high, and I keep wondering if they're just trying to buy time before the next huge reveal.

Neji finally taking down Kidomaru was such a huge relief for me, honestly, because I've been waiting for him to get his revenge ever since their first brutal fight. The way he just *ended* it, all calculated and intense, made me cheer out loud—that's the Neji I remember, and it was so satisfying to see him dominate like that.

I was genuinely shocked to see Jirobo and the others back again, that was a wild twist! And man, watching Shikamaru bust out those new shadow moves against them was just so satisfying; it really showed how much smarter and stronger he's gotten since their last fight.

Neji and the others just absolutely crushed the Sound Four this time, which seriously had me reflecting on those brutal, desperate struggles during the Sasuke retrieval mission. My jaw almost dropped seeing how far they've come, effortlessly taking down opponents who once pushed them to their absolute limits.

I seriously thought they were done for this episode, so when they got sucked into that other dimension right at the end, I was totally blindsided! My jaw dropped, what even just happened? I guess the fight's definitely not over now, which is kinda frustrating but also makes me wonder what crazy stuff is coming.

Wait, Tayuya's back?! I totally thought this was gonna be a throwaway filler, but then that new jutsu trapping everyone at the end had me genuinely shocked. It makes me wonder if there's more to this whole reanimation thing than just bringing back random baddies.

It's wild how Orochimaru just keeps pulling out these terrifying jutsu; the Underworld Transfer Jutsu is particularly gnarly, making me wonder if he even sees souls as anything more than tools. My stomach churned just imagining my own soul being ripped out like that, it's such a cold and brutal way to fight.

The animation in this filler episode seriously blew my mind; I mean, it looked better than some of the *actual* war battles, and I just can't shake the feeling that a different team must have worked on it or something. It's such a bummer that it isn't canon, because seeing the whole old squad back together feels so right, making me wish this version of events was the real deal.

I was on the edge of my seat during Tayuya and Shikamaru's rematch, it's just wild how his mind works under pressure. And man, that flute music still gives me chills, like it’s worming its way into my brain just like it did to him.

Okay, when the Sound Four showed up again, I genuinely got a little excited for a proper throwback battle. But then they just *poof* away with that teleportation jutsu? I was seriously let down; it felt like such a cop-out, almost like the writers just needed them gone without earning it.

I was really feeling the intensity of that fight, but then Choji's blue chakra totally snatched me out of it. Like, what was that effect? It looked so cheap and disconnected from the rest of the episode's awesome animation, and I just couldn't shake the feeling that it undermined how serious his moment was supposed to be.

When Kiba and Akamaru started going all out against those twins, I was actually shocked at how much power they were throwing around! It’s like they’ve been waiting this whole war for a chance to really show everyone what they’re made of, especially after feeling like they were always in Naruto’s shadow.

Okay, I was seriously cheering when Choji totally crushed Jirobo this time around; it was so satisfying after seeing him struggle before. They brought in those flashbacks to the original fight and it made me realize just how much Choji has grown as a ninja, making his victory feel incredibly earned and powerful.

EPISODE CONTEXT

Sitting deep in the Fourth Great Ninja War stretch at episode 303 of 500, this filler follows 'Terror: The Steam Imp' and the broader Allied Shinobi Forces' struggles against reanimated threats. It bridges into 'The Underworld Transfer Jutsu,' continuing the war's recurring theme of the living confronting the resurrected dead. While skippable for those tracking the main plot, it reinforces the emotional cost of the Reanimation Jutsu on the battlefield.
