I really didn't expect Gaara's story to hit me this hard again after everything with the Akatsuki, but learning his mom genuinely loved him and the sand protecting him was *her* will, not Shukaku's curse, just twisted my gut. It makes me see all his past loneliness and anger in such a different, sadder light, and I can't even imagine what knowing this would've done for little Gaara.
