I actually forgot this was supposed to be filler, because the writing for Pakura and Maki felt so grounded and sad. Seeing Maki try to reach her sensei, while Pakura was blinded by that old village betrayal, really hit hard. It sucks that Naruto isn't in it much, but the sand village politics and that scorch style made up for it

You usually expect filler to be garbage but this one actually gave maki a real story and gave a side character a chance to be interesting for once

It was a decent enough backstory for Pakura but you really start to miss naruto and the main plot when they spend this much time on side characters
