Kisame actually choosing to go out by his own sharks, just to protect info from Guy, was genuinely shocking, and I couldn't help but feel a messed up sort of respect for his commitment. His whole internal monologue about Itachi's words, it just cemented for me that he truly lived and died by his own warped code, no matter how wild it seemed.
