Episode Context

Episode 23 deepens the climactic Sasori battle that began building after Chiyo revealed her secret puppet techniques in the previous episode. Sitting firmly in the Kazekage Rescue arc, Shippuden's opening statement of intent, this episode provides critical character backstory for both Chiyo and Sasori before the stakes escalate further in episode 24, 'The Third Kazekage.' This is canon material and essential viewing for understanding the emotional foundation of the arc's resolution.
