I felt so bad for Kisuke losing his wife and house like that and the soul detachment thing was actually pretty creepy for a filler episode

Naruto talking to a ghost while everyone else thought he was crazy showed how kind he is even when things get weird

Good animation for a side story and Naruto defending a ghost even if he looks crazy was a nice look for his character

I usually skip the filler episodes but I am glad I watched this one because the ghost of Kisuke had such a depressing story about his wife and his home burning down. Naruto being the only one who could see him made for some funny moments too even though the ending with Kabuto appearing out of nowhere felt disconnected from everything else

You have to wonder why Kabuto was even lurking in the woods during a random side story about a guy who died twice

A soul detachment jutsu felt like a random plot device but Naruto acting like a detective to solve a murder was kind of fun

Kabuto showing up just to take out the bad guy and then leaving without saying a word was such a bizarre choice

I think the tragic backstory for Kisuke made this feel more like the real Naruto world because everything is usually so dark and sad there

It was heartbreaking to hear about Kisuke's wife being killed, but Naruto's dedication to helping him find peace was a nice touch for a standalone story

I was honestly expecting some twist with Sabiru being a spy, but Naruto just being his usual kind self to a lonely ghost was such a refreshing moment for me. It really shows how he always looks for the best in people, even when I'm braced for betrayal.

Sabiru was such a pain, always trying to pull one over on the squad, and I really thought he was going to get away with it for a second there. But man, seeing Naruto and Kisuke finally put the pieces together to expose his betrayal? That just made me pump my fist, what a relief to see that jerk finally face the music.

Okay, I usually skip these filler episodes, but Kisuke's whole story just broke my heart, and seeing Naruto actually connect with him as a ghost was so unexpectedly touching. It totally reminded me of that movie Just Like Heaven, and honestly, I think Naruto's willingness to just listen and be there for Kisuke, letting him finally move on after exposing Sabiru, really showed how much he's grown to understand people's pain, even spirits.

I felt so bad for Kisuke having to relive all those painful memories; like, didn't he already suffer enough? It was really nice to see Naruto just patiently sit there with him, that simple act of kindness probably meant the world after everything.

Kisuke finding out his hero was actually the one who killed him just broke my heart; that kind of betrayal is a heavy blow, especially when you've admired someone so much. I was genuinely shocked by how sharp Naruto was, piecing together all those details to figure out the truth – who knew he had that kind of investigative mind?

Kisuke's backstory, with Sabiru so cruelly erasing that whole family for his spy mission, genuinely made me feel incredibly uneasy, especially considering it was just a filler. It's wild how Naruto can still bring such a profound sense of closure to someone like that, making me actually breathe a sigh of relief after all the darkness.

Seriously, Sabiru was such a monster for what he did to Kisuke and his family; I was genuinely fuming thinking about it. But man, that feeling when Naruto finally caught up to him and helped the ghost find peace? That's the kind of closure I really needed for them, and it just shows how Naruto never gives up on helping even the forgotten.

Okay, so this ghost plot felt totally out of left field for Naruto, but I totally get why he's the only one who could see him; it's just like him to connect with someone no one else notices. It kinda made me think back to his own loneliness and how he always tries to understand others, even when it's super weird.

Kisuke's fate, losing his wife and home for absolutely nothing, just felt like such a punch to the gut. Watching him drift as a ghost, completely cut off from his own past, left me with this deep frustration – like, how could something so pointlessly cruel happen to anyone?

I was cracking up so hard when Naruto just peeled that seal off the rock and accidentally let a ghost out, like seriously, what was he expecting? His face when he realized no one else could even see the guy was absolutely priceless, I was just dying for him trying to explain it.

I wasn't expecting such a "Just Like Heaven" vibe in Naruto, which felt a little out of place for me, but man, seeing him so desperately try to convince everyone that Sabiru was a spy was totally classic Naruto and pretty intense.

EPISODE CONTEXT

This episode sits within the 'Past Arc: The Locus of Konoha,' a stretch of filler episodes dedicated to backstories and standalone character vignettes. It follows episode 192's 'Neji Chronicles,' which explored Neji's history, and leads into 'The Worst Three-Legged Race,' a mission-focused episode pairing Naruto and Sakura. None of these episodes advance the central Shippuden narrative, but they flesh out village life and lesser-known corners of the Hidden Leaf.
