Okay, so I went into this filler thinking it would be totally skippable, but Kosuke's backstory was genuinely awesome and I was kinda floored by how he popped up in so many key moments in Leaf history. It really hit me seeing Naruto unknowingly echo Minato; it's like history repeating itself in the best way, even if I was a little confused by the elemental stuff during the cool fight.
