It's just so heavy to think about how Jiraiya had these two students, Nagato and Naruto, and how they ended up on such wildly different paths despite their shared past. For me, the real kicker is watching Naruto genuinely try to understand Pain, the guy who wrecked everything and killed his sensei, instead of just unleashing a Rasengan like the old Naruto definitely would have; it really makes me realize how much he's matured.
