Episode Context

Episode 1 dropped Miaka and Yui into the world of the book; this second episode narrows the focus to Miaka's deepening entanglement with the Konan Empire and introduces key celestial warriors who will define her journey. It's pure foundation-building, establishing relationships, power dynamics, and the prophetic role Miaka is being pulled toward. Everything here feeds directly into the larger Priestess of Suzaku quest that drives the first major arc of the series.
