Episode Context

Positioned roughly a third of the way through the full 52-episode run, 'Battle of Sorrow' follows the events of 'The City of Resurrection,' where Miaka's group sought out a healer with the power to revive the dead, raising the emotional and moral stakes significantly. This episode serves as a critical bridge, processing the consequences of that quest while setting the stage for 'Magic Flute,' which introduces new challenges and characters that will push the overarching Suzaku summoning narrative forward.
