Episode 1 is a solid start. It's not trying to wow you with action or animation. Instead, it's trying to make you care about three flawed, interesting people. Hachiman is a refreshing protagonist because he's not a typical nice guy or a typical loser. He's just... a guy with a lot of baggage and a sharp tongue. Yukino is equally compelling, and Yui brings some warmth to balance them out.

Ohhh, exciting episode!!! I was laughing at the arrogance of Hachiman. I did not expect to enjoy this episode especially I do not like this kind of anime. The episode makes me excited for what’s coming next. I’d rate this 9/10 totally got hyped!!

I love the main character's personality: when it comes to school romance anime, most of them have the same kind of personality, but Hikki is very different, which makes it easy to get hooked. I like the art style 'cause combined with the anime's plot, it makes you feel nostalgic.

As episode one of thirteen, this is pure foundation, establishing Hachiman's philosophy, introducing the Service Club dynamic, and setting the thematic stakes for the entire season. Nothing precedes it, but everything that follows builds directly on the relationships and tensions seeded here. The subsequent episodes will expand the cast and test these early dynamics as the Service Club takes on new challenges.
