This episode was heartwarming. The OP and ED were great, with the animation, fine visuals and details, and positive foreshadowing of what is yet to happen. The upbringing of Miyo was a Cinderella-like story, maybe much worse, and truly heartbreaking. Kudo and Yurie were way kinder than her own family.

Miyo being treated badly even as a child breaks my heart. Kiyoka is still quite aloof but that's reasonable since they are still trying to get to know each other but he really is far from what the rumors are saying. It's cool that there are some supernatural stuff happening.

Kiyoka is so much different than the rumors said! I love how he noticed Miyo wasn't eating and actually waited for her. Seeing Miyo cry over a simple home-cooked meal was so heart-wrenching. Their journey is starting off so beautifully.

Episode Context

Episode 2 builds directly on the awkward first encounter from Episode 1, transitioning from setup into the slow, trust-building phase that defines the early stretch of this 12-episode season. This is foundational character work. Miyo and Kiyoka's relationship needs this groundwork before the fantasy elements and larger conflicts escalate in later episodes. Think of this as the emotional anchor point that everything ahead will be measured against.
