My Daughter Left the Nest and Returned an S-Rank Adventurer

Boukensha ni Naritai to Miyako ni Deteitta Musume ga S-Rank ni Natteta is a story about an old man, named Belgrieve, living in a place far away from the hustle and bustle of life in the capital. He lives in a rather rustic, medium-size home that can accommodate a family of 3 people. This series has been in the back burner for quite some time as I cannot recall why I did not finish the series on time. Likewise, I have decided to finish it today to make a progress with my list. The series itself is a mix of slice of life, comedy, adventure, action and even drama (would you believe that?); the overall general theme for this series is that when it's calm times, the mood is calm or even cheerful. When it's bad times, the mood can be either sullen or frantic. The fight scenes are good and serviceable though I must admit the CG monsters are a bit wonky, but I don't really expect small studios making good monster designs with CG. The comedic parts of this series are pretty good as it's not too funny, but you know that it's at least bound to entertain you while everything is calm. Likewise, while this story has been quite good in front of my eyes. I still can say that there are still some things in this series that I sometimes do not like. But it's quite few and far in between to dampen the experience I have for this series. My only complaint for this series is probably due to the number of misunderstandings this series has that is comedic in nature that is kind of losing its punch in the later iteration. Also, Ange does act like a spoiled brat from time to time but I don't find her character that much annoying asides from one time during her fight. As you have expected, the series has ended up in an open note as the series cannot accommodate all 11 volumes of the Light novels. But I do not expect a season 2 at all... especially for a series like this. Overall, I give this series a 7 out of 10. It has its moments; it has a balance of action, comedy, slice of life, adventure and even drama. But it never loses sight of things despite the changes. Would I recommend someone to watch this? Probably not. it's a bit too underwhelming for a series if you ask me and just like every Light novel adaptation, the good part happens later down the series' life. I would probably read the Light novels if I ever found a translated copy of such as I am intrigued by the mystery of people that have black hair. It's an interesting topic to dive into as well as the role of demon lords in this series. But alas, if the series get a season 2 by some sort of a miracle, I will gladly watch it as I like the company of every character of this series. This series might be unremarkable in a sense. But it's a pretty good show altogether. Score: 70/100.

The “finding a wife” discussion at the guild involving Belgrieve and Ange’s friends was both hilarious and entertaining. The teasing about Belgrieve possibly reuniting with an old elf flame was fun to hear. Despite little action, it's still enjoyable.

Belgrieve’s past finally resurfaces, along with his dream of becoming an adventurer once more, while Ange is denied her long-awaited reunion again. The episode highlights Belgrieve’s lingering regrets, and the final reveal perfectly sets up the coming conflict.

Angeline went to ESTOGAL's mansion. The episode was fun, and Belgrieve came to know about Angeline's personal quest. Angeline looks pretty in a noble look. 👑💖 Overall — another calm episode with slow story progress, 8/10. 📖😊

Charlotte’s guilt and self-doubt made this episode feel more emotional. Watching Rosetta stand by her no matter what was heartwarming. The action was exciting, especially during the Ba’al fight, and many characters had great moments. The ending leaves plenty to look forward to.

Byaku bond gets stronger with Angeline and others. Belgrieve experiences the same nightmare again; it seems like there's some plot related to this in future episodes. 😱 The flute background music was awesome—really liked it! 🎶😊 Overall—calm episode with slow story progress. 8/10. 👍📺

Charlotte’s backstory was heartbreaking, and I loved how Angeline comforted her like a true big sister. Belgrieve and Mary’s conversation was lovely to watch, and I wonder if their bond could grow into something more. I’m curious about the Demon King child, too, in the end.

The elves were a great addition to the story and made the world feel bigger. Angeline, trying hard to find Belgrieve a wife, was hilarious and entertaining to watch. The ending cliffhanger was really good and made me excited to see what happens next in the next episode.

Byakuya and Charlotte get attacked again. I feel sad for Charlotte 😢—what's happening to her? Overall - a balanced mix of drama and action , 9/10 ⭐.

Ep. 7 was heavier than I expected. Helvetica’s scene was painful to watch, while Belgrieve stayed calm the entire time. The creepy undead attack gave the episode a tense atmosphere, and the Angeline mystery made me even more curious about what’s coming next. Loved every bit.

Belgrieve’s accidental win was hilarious, and I couldn’t stop laughing. The Darkwalker scene was creepy and showed Angeline’s vulnerable side during the fight. Ashcroft admitting his jealousy and limitations felt genuine, and I respected him even more for it.

Angeline acting clingy around Belgrieve was both funny and wholesome. The family moments were entertaining, while the demon-related tension made the story more interesting. The ending scene added a strong hook that makes you excited for the next episode too.

The reunion between Angeline and Belgrieve was lovely to watch. Seeing Angeline drop her S-Rank image and act like a happy daughter again felt genuinely wholesome. The warm atmosphere and emotional moments made this one of the best episodes in the series.
