Episode Context

As Episode 1 of 40, this is pure foundation-laying, there is no prior episode to build from, and everything here exists to establish Judy Abbott and the orphanage life she is about to leave behind. The title itself signals that this Monday is a turning point, making this the calm before a significant shift in Judy's circumstances that will define the rest of the series. What follows across the season is shaped entirely by the aspirations and personality traits introduced here.
