My Classmate's Mother
Oshimeter
Synopsis
What does a guy with a crush on his teacher actually do about it? In Jun's case, he joins the badminton club she runs just to spend time with her. Convenient detail: he's the only member, so it's basically just the two of them after school every day. That's already a lot of tension to work with in just two episodes. Things get more complicated when a girl approaches him at school — turns out she's Keiko's daughter, Sae, who casually mentions that her mom talks about Jun at home. A lot. Then Jun finds out Keiko has been a widow for ten years, and that's the push he needs to actually say something. The whole thing is a short, focused story about a guy working up the nerve to act on feelings he probably shouldn't have — and a woman who might not be entirely indifferent to them. If you liked the slow-burn forbidden tension in 25-sai no Joshikousei or the emotionally charged romantic setups in Yubisaki kara Honki no Jounetsu, this scratches a similar itch but keeps things contained to a small cast and a tight runtime. It's adapted from a visual novel, and that shows — the character dynamics get real attention for something this short. Going in knowing it's a two-episode OVA is the right headspace; it's not trying to be more than what it is.
