Here we see a young woman named Saki; she becomes a shell of her former self after she falls in love with a mysterious water phantom. The phantom mimics her every movement. Ginko realizes that the creature is a parasitic mushi that drains the victim’s life force and identity until they are erased. This episode taps into the allure of self-obsession and losing a sense of self-identity.

This episode moves at a somewhat slow pace, and the story is sad. The suspense and the well-written dialogue really stand out.
