From a young age William is just extraordinary. not only he posses great intellect but also knew how to read people. I'm amazed that he didn't turn out to be a barbaric killer but he turned out to be a calculative person who thinks every outcome. A very nice flashback indeed.

It is really fun to watch William playing financial chess. This episode does a great job showcasing his intelligence and manipulative side reminding us just how easily he can control a situation when everything goes according to his plan.

Episode Context

Sitting at the midpoint of Part 2's thirteen episodes, this installment arrives immediately after the resolution of the Jack the Ripper case, using the breathing room to pivot toward a new and deeply personal threat in Milverton. It functions as a critical bridge episode, excavating Moriarty's vulnerabilities while laying the groundwork for the upcoming 'White Knight of London' arc that will dominate the back half of the season.
