I felt the tension of the battle eased a bit in this episode, although Zeon felt caught off guard by White Base's strategy. Overall, this episode felt a bit slow, but it's still worth noting because of the important events taking place at White Base.

Episode Context

Sitting at the tail end of White Base's early survival arc, episode 8 follows the internal and external threats of 'The Core Fighter's Escape' and deepens the crew's struggle with their unwanted responsibilities, particularly the civilian burden that makes every tactical decision heavier. This episode functions as a crucial character-building bridge, establishing the moral tensions that will carry into 'Fly, Gundam!' and the escalating Federation-Zeon confrontations ahead.
