Episode Context

Coming off 'The Treize Assassination,' where OZ exploits the Gundam pilots' actions to consolidate power, this episode deliberately slows down to invest in Zechs as a figure worth watching beyond his role as an adversary. It deepens his mythology ahead of 'Heero, Distracted by Defeat,' which pivots back to the Gundam pilots and the widening consequences of the war they're all caught inside.
