It's finally the breaking point, only an ignorant wouldn't foresee this outcome. The episode shows the different path that Zinnerman and Angelo took seeing as they are both a victim of the Globe Incident. Both have an understandable reaction considering what happened to them. P.S. You would understood each of their stand if you read the novel but too bad that the anime skipped the story of Angelo because it was just too dark.
