Episode Context

Arriving at the one-third mark of this 12-episode OVA, 'The Demon Overhead' pivots from the external trust-building with guerrilla allies in Episode 3 to fractures within the team itself, making it a critical character foundation episode. Sanders' personal crisis and the squad's response establish emotional stakes that carry directly into Episode 5's 'The Broken Order to Standby,' where unit cohesion will be tested under even harsher combat conditions. This is the episode where the 08th MS Team stops being a collection of soldiers and starts becoming a real unit, or falls apart trying.
