Mitasarete Mezameru Asa ni, Jimi na Choushoku wo The Animation
Oshimeter
Synopsis
After getting freshly dumped, two people end up spending the night together after running into each other at a class reunion. That's the whole setup for this single-episode OVA from Blue bread, and honestly, it works better than it has any right to. Koutarou and Sayaka are opposites in almost every way — different personalities, different ideas about love, different ways of dealing with heartbreak — but something clicks between them anyway. The story leans into that tension rather than ignoring it, so the intimate moments feel grounded in actual character dynamics rather than just happening for their own sake. For a one-episode runtime, there's a surprising amount of emotional texture here. The animation handles both the quiet, awkward moments and the more charged ones with genuine care, and the character expressions do a lot of the heavy lifting in conveying what these two are going through emotionally. If you've watched something like Kimi ga Suki or Ane Koi and appreciated when adult romance actually tries to portray the messiness of real feelings, this scratches a similar itch. It's adapted from a manga, so the source material gives it a more grounded, character-focused core than a lot of entries in this genre tend to have. It's a short watch, it has a clear emotional throughline, and it doesn't rely on absurd scenarios to get where it's going — just two adults figuring something out after getting their hearts broken.
