QUICK TAKES

Slapstick gag romcom at best... seeing our 1st duo pairing youji and kanan. Tbh youji (the MC) is my typical boys will be boys, but despite the high libido for guys at those age (he seem, gullible and have a genuine affection toward kanan)
Also he seem a closet foodie.. kinda right fit with our princess
The tsun princess kanan on the other hand...
70/100.
A decent amount sexy ness in this series, but i'll keep it for later (already got multiple rom com in my watchlist)

This anime is a good watch if you want chill romance anime. Although the trope of "Girl is a tsundere and constantly misunderstanding the guy" is all over the episode, some of the gags will give you a good chuckle. You can really feel the "slice of life"-ish of the episode but it does have some good pacing and story progression

First impressions matter, and Mistress Kanan is Devilishly Easy makes a surprisingly strong one. Episode 1 wastes little time introducing its central gimmick: Kanan, a demon who arrives with every intention of claiming a human soul, finds herself completely outmatched by something far more terrifying basic human affection.
The episode succeeds because it doesn't overcomplicate its setup. The premise is absurd, but the execution is straightforward and confident. Kanan's dramatic entrance, complete with the aura of a classic villain, quickly falls apart once she realizes her target isn't reacting the way she expected. Instead of fear, she receives kindness, and the resulting chaos is genuinely funny.
What carries the premiere is Kanan herself. Her constant shifts between domineering demon and flustered teenager create most of the episode's best moments. The comedy isn't particularly groundbreaking, but the timing is sharp enough to keep the jokes landing. More importantly, the show understands that Kanan's embarrassment is funnier than any supernatural spectacle it could offer.
Visually, the episode is solid. Character expressions do much of the heavy lifting, especially during Kanan's increasingly desperate attempts to maintain her intimidating image. The animation isn't flashy, but it doesn't need to be. The focus remains firmly on character interactions, where the series is clearly strongest.
If there's a weakness, it's that the overall direction feels very familiar. Anyone who watches a lot of romantic comedies will recognize many of the beats long before they happen. However, the cast's chemistry helps the episode avoid feeling stale.
As a premiere, Episode 1 does exactly what it needs to do: establish its characters, deliver several good laughs, and leave enough charm behind to make viewers curious about what comes next.
Final Verdict: A fun and confident introduction that leans heavily on Kanan's lovable incompetence. It may not reinvent the rom-com formula, but it executes it well enough to stand out.

I don't like the idea of this tory

EPISODE CONTEXT
As episode 1 of 12, this premiere lays the entire foundation — Kanan and Youji's dynamic is the engine that will drive the full season, and establishing how easily Kanan crumbles under sincerity is the core joke everything builds from. The episode pivots the premise away from any conventional supernatural setup and firmly into rom-com territory, signaling that the season's arc will center on a demon navigating the far more terrifying battlefield of teenage dating. Everything introduced here — the character chemistry, the comedic tone, the subverted power dynamic — serves as the baseline the remaining eleven episodes will escalate.
