📖 SYNOPSIS
Life's been pretty sweet for Kanna — going to school, eating croquettes, being adorable — but none of that matters when her estranged father shows up and demands she return to the Dragon World. Turns out there's a brewing war between the Chaos and Harmony dragon factions, and Kanna's dad, Kamun Kamui, needs her to fix some mess from the past. So now this little dragon who just wanted to be a normal elementary schooler is caught between the family she chose and the one she was born into. And Kobayashi, being Kobayashi, isn't about to let that slide without trying to patch things up between Kanna and her father. This movie takes everything you already love about Dragon Maid — the cozy daily life, the found family warmth, Kyoto Animation making every frame look gorgeous — and layers on real emotional stakes about belonging and what family actually means. There's still that signature blend of the mundane and the fantastical, where grocery shopping and interdimensional dragon politics coexist naturally. If you liked the way The Devil is a Part-Timer! handles supernatural beings navigating human life, or how Flying Witch balances the magical with the everyday, this hits a similar sweet spot. It's a single movie, so it's a tight, self-contained story — no massive time commitment. Just be prepared to feel things about a cartoon dragon child and her weird little household.
