Saved by the Ice Cold Prince's Embrace
Oshimeter
Synopsis
Born the illegitimate daughter of a count and his maid, Katrina is basically the family punching bag in this world. After her mother dies, her stepmother and stepsister make her life even worse: full Cinderella treatment, no fairy godmother in sight. Then her stepsister gets hit with a royal order: report to the frozen northern territory to be disciplined by the so-called Ice Prince, a guy everyone says is ruthless and cruel. Naturally, the stepfamily shoves Katrina into her sister's place and sends her off to what they assume will be a miserable fate in the snow. Here's where it gets good, though. The Ice Prince? Not what the rumors say. At all. Katrina arrives expecting cruelty and instead finds someone who's genuinely kind to her, maybe for the first time in her life. The whole setting works as this beautiful contrast: blizzards and cold stone on the outside, but real warmth and safety on the inside. It's that slow, cathartic thing where you watch someone who's been broken down finally start to believe they deserve good things. If you liked My Happy Marriage, the emotional wavelength here is very similar: abused heroine, misunderstood cold-demeanor love interest, gentle romance that feels earned rather than forced. Fans of The Reason Why Raeliana Ended Up at the Duke's Mansion will also dig the fantasy setting and dynamic. This is a TV series based on a manga, set for 2026, and it's the kind of cozy romantic fantasy that just lets you exhale.

4 minutes is not enough for a kidnapping arc. we get the setup the escape the chase and the fall all crammed in and none of it breathes. this needed double the runtime
Clarence losing his composure when he sees her hanging there is what sold me. the voice actor went all in on that scream and you can feel the mask cracking. everyone calling him ice cold finally gets it
that rope snap broke me. she was right there and then the blade comes out and its just over. the countess smiling while doing it is going to live in my head rent free
I could not stop thinking about Katolina's face when she looked back at her stepmother and told her Clarence would come for her first. That girl used to flinch at everything and now she is threatening her abusers to their faces. The moment she stopped being the broken one
the stepmother slapping her again and again in the rain while yelling about her mother's face. that whole scene is the cruelest this show has been
Nina and the whole staff locked in the basement while Katolina gets dragged past the door hearing them bang is the part that got me. That tiny detail made the whole thing feel real
That registry scene got me good. Seeing her legally cut from those monsters after all those episodes of watching her suffer felt like a real win. Still wish the whole thing had more room to breathe though
The Queen going from stern scary figure to smothering Katrina in hugs calling her a doll was the biggest plot twist of the season honestly. Clarence's dad just staring in disbelief when Katrina described him as warm and gentle had me cackling
I keep thinking about her using her mother's old clothes to make that rope. like the only thing she had left of her mom becomes the thing that nearly saves her and then gets cut. that gutted me
You can see how far Katolina has come. Earlier she would have been a sobbing mess begging them to stop. This time she just glares through the tears and warns them. Sherry being scared while her mother is unhinged is a good split too
I cried a little when Clarence opened the crushed package and saw those military gloves. She thought they were ruined and he just genuinely loved them so much. The way she broke down in tears of relief got to me
I was not expecting Clarence to completely break down like that over her injured face. Seeing him pull her into that tight hug and apologize over and over hit so much harder than I thought it would.
Moving from the estate to the royal castle in the span of five minutes felt way too rushed. I know these short episodes have to cut corners but my brain could barely catch up to the location change
I cheered so loud when Katharina stood her ground in the shop and told them she was never coming back Clarence freezing that girl hand right after made it even better
That cliffhanger with the evil stepsister grabbing Katrina by the collar on the street was infuriating and Clarence needs to step in right now
Clarence telling the shopkeeper to buy every single dress was hilarious and I loved seeing him completely spoil Katrina while pretending it was just noble escort practice
Clarence making glowing ice animals in the forest was super sweet and his childhood story explained so much
I really felt for Katariina when she was trying to clean those windows because she didn't feel like she deserved to eat without working and it just shows how badly her family treated her for years
Seeing Clarence drop the hood and finally ask for her real name felt like such a huge weight was lifted off the story and he actually looks at her as a person now instead of just a replacement
Truth was revealed. Seems like something will happen. Alright episode.
