Episode Context

Following Kanata's breakout charge through the field in Episode 2 'Fireball,' this episode plants him directly in striking distance of the race's leading trio, sharpening Round 3 into a focused head-to-head battle. At just Episode 3 of 13, it accelerates the season's competitive stakes earlier than expected, suggesting the Peninsula Manazuru race will define the tone and rivalries for what follows. The final-lap framing here sets up an imminent resolution that will carry significant weight into the mid-season stretch.
