It's a good episode with suspense, comedy, and an unexpected twist at the end. What stands out is the situation Mikura faced in solving the case and the fact that the script also includes elements of horror.

I’m enjoying the action and cases Mikura and her friends are taking. The animation is still so good and the slight fan service is good.

While the action is kept to a minimum compared to previous outings, the sharp writing and nuanced voice performances give Kurokawa’s backstory compelling depth, adding a layer of maturity to the series that elevates the overall team dynamic.

Episode Context

Coming off 'Shell of Memories,' which put Harada's backstory under the microscope, this episode pivots to Asami and introduces a supernatural dimension to the DSA's casework. It marks a tonal shift that broadens the series' range. It directly precedes 'Shell of Thoughts,' which moves the team into a virtual reality setting, suggesting the show is actively cycling through distinct genre modes as the season progresses.
