It's a great episode that sets the stage for the series finale, featuring action, suspense, and a look at how the team takes on the organization working against them. Asami's transformation and the shocking ending really stand out.

This episode certainly is building up to the finale really well. The main antagonists are really devious using Mikura.

Love how Harada and Kurokawa prove once again that their bond as a team goes far deeper than just business partners. It’s an atmospheric, character-driven setup that leaves you feeling eager and thoroughly prepared for the explosive final showdown.

Episode Context

Coming directly off 'Shell of Illusion,' which introduced a mysterious figure into the narrative fold, 'Shell of Origin' answers the questions that episode raised by excavating that character's history and inner world. It functions as a deliberate bridge episode, the calm before the storm, contextualizing the stakes heading into the series finale, 'Shell of Destruction.' Miss this one and the conclusion will carry significantly less weight.
