Episode Context

As Episode 1 of 52, this is pure foundation, there is no prior episode, and everything here exists to set the table. Ichigo, Masaya, and Ryou are all introduced, and the seeds of the central mystery are planted without yet being named. It leads directly into Episode 2, 'Mew Two,' where those mysteries sharpen and the ensemble begins to expand.
