Episode Context

Sitting at episode 9 of 52, this marks a deliberate pivot from the Lucia-focused emotional beats of 'Frozen Feeling' to begin fleshing out the supporting mermaids as fully realized characters, starting with Hanon and her connection to Tarō. It deepens the group dynamic right before 'Images of the Past' turns its lens toward Rina's backstory, establishing a pattern of rotating character focus that will define the season's middle stretch. This trio-building phase is essential groundwork for the larger conflicts ahead.
