EPISODE CONTEXT
Following the two-part conclusion of 'The Last Face,' this episode pivots away from external threats to excavate Yūta's past, widening the emotional scope of the series in its penultimate stretch. As the first half of a two-parter, 'Promised Tomorrow (Part I)' functions as setup, introducing the key figures and unresolved history that 'Promised Tomorrow (Part II)' will bring to a head. At episode 10 of 11, the series is clearly moving toward its final reckoning with what immortality costs on a deeply personal level.
