Meltys Quest
Oshimeter
Synopsis
Meltys has spent her entire life doing absolutely nothing useful — no royal duties, no heroic training, just a comfortable existence of indulgence — making her the last person anyone would expect to save a kingdom. Then the Grolido Monster Empire shows up, levels her kingdom, and kidnaps all three of her sisters in one fell swoop. Now this wholly unprepared princess has to actually do something about it. That's the setup for Meltys Quest, a 2-episode ONA from Office No. 8 based on the RPG game by Remtairy. The appeal is in watching someone fundamentally unsuited for adventure stumble through a fantasy world full of monsters and strange encounters, and the show leans into the humor of that premise without losing the weight of what's actually at stake. The fantasy world itself has some creative variety — different landscapes, creature designs, and the kind of chaotic energy you'd expect from an RPG brought to life. If you've seen Fallen ~Makina and the City of Ruins~ or Hero Zex and appreciated how those blend adult content with genuine world-building and character momentum, this sits comfortably in that same space. Fans of Karryn's Prison's game-to-animation style will also find the tone familiar. At just two episodes, it doesn't overstay its welcome. It's a short, engaging watch that delivers exactly what it promises — a reluctant princess, a monster empire, and a journey she is deeply unqualified for.
